Restoring Backed-up Data

How To Restore with Time Navigator - Version 4.1

Basic Concepts

Restoration can only be performed on a previously backed up file or folder. Therefore, the file tree must be displaying the Past, not the Present.

Restore Procedure

To restore a file/folder:

  • Launch the Time Navigator (TiNa) - Restore and Archive Manager
  • Login using YOUR username and password
  • Locate the objects you wish to restore using Time Navigation
  • Within the Date Control menu on the left side of the window, enter a date in the Past your wish to restore from or use the slider to select a timeframe then press View
  • Check the objects that you wish to restore in the file tree
  • Navigate to the menu Backup -> Restore

Designate restore settings:

  • Under the Parameters tab, choose the location where you would like to restore the file/folder. E.g. the same location it was backed up from or a new location
  • Under the Behavior tab, choose how the file/folder will be restored if there is an error
  • Once the above settings are complete, press OK to initiate the restore process
  • A window will appear displaying the progress of the restore
  • The message "Restore Complete" is displayed when the operation is finished

That's it! The restored file/folder is now ready to be used.
